That is a huge question that there are many suitable answers for. There are many components to healthy relationships.
Let’s take my relationship with my wife for example. What are things that I can/should do to cultivate a healthy relationship with her?
Listen intently to demonstrate that I hear her.
Show her in various ways that she is important to me. Spend time with her; buy her gifts; tell her how much I love her and how much she means to me; and so on.
Make her feel safe and secure in our relationship so that she knows she is not in competition with other people, places, or things.
These are all great tools in building happy and healthy relationships. They should not be neglected.
The bottom line is this though. Maybe if we were just more intentional about our relationships they would be better. I know that I have a much better relationship with my wife and children when I am intentional about it.
When I am intentional they don’t question my love for them. When I am intentional they feel heard, valued, and safe. When I am intentional I just have a better life!
If you want better relationships make them a priority and be intentional about them.
Good relationships don’t just happen; they are made!
